HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

I hope everyone has a wonderful day filled with love. Well, every day should be filled with love but I hope you all get to do a little something special today. In the Brown house we keep V-Day pretty low key. As someone else said on their blog, "we don't support Hallmark" so nothing too fancy on "heart" day. Dale did bring me a beautiful bouquet of red roses Saturday and yesterday for a late breakfast we had our waffles and strawberries and whipped cream.  We weren't about to do it this morning before Gatlin left for Seminary at 6am. Heck, we didn't even do it before church yesterday at 9am. It was our lunch and thank you to my lovely daughter for making the waffles so I could put these together...Okay these aren't mine but this is what I made. You can find the original idea and recipe at The Family Kitchen . They were a big hit with the kids. Not sure what Dale thought about having so much sugar but boy were they yummy.
So a few post back I mentioned that one of my nicknames (really the only one I ever had) was Sherry Berry and one of my blogging buddies posted a comment about Shari's Berries and how yummy they are so imagine my surprise when after hearing a loud knock on my front door I found this sitting on the front step!!!  This came from my sister. I think I mentioned how generous my sister is and she really is. She has
seven kids and five grandkids but she still has time to think of me and spoil me with wonderful gifts.

I'm really looking forward to trying these. Maybe later, after the kids go to bed. I might be nice and share with my Valentine. He deserves a "slice of the pie".

Everyone else will get the dessert I made. Raspberry Poke Cake (the kind with jello poured over the top) with Raspberry frosting and chocolates on top. We don't normally have dessert after dinner so this will be a special treat for everyone.

  3. That is too funny - did you sister read your blog comments?!? lol I love Sherry's berries. But I did think it was Shari's Berries. We 'had' to sample them for a pre-holiday giveaway for work. It was a tough job, yes it was. LOL

You have to let me know what you think. I seriously thought they were the best I've had.
