Day 24 and 25

Day 24-Something you've learned

I heard a quote the other day that made me think..."If you want to make God laugh, make plans."  I have learned that when we are willing to accept the plans God has for us we have peace in our lives.
I have learned how important it is not to hold a grudge.
I have learned that you can raise six children all the same and each of them will have their own experiences that lead them to make individual choices both good and bad because they too have their agency to do so.
I have learned that when we open up and love and accept all people our lives are much more rich because of it.
I have learned that if you try to hurt someone I love you will have to deal with me.
I have learned that pride can hurt you and humility can heal you.
I have learned that 28.5 years of marriage is hard work but then most things worth holding on to are.
I have learned that mushrooms don't taste as bad as I thought as a kid but oatmeal still does.
I have learned that I can find joy in most things if I try.
I have learned that some of my kids accept me for me while others are still learning to.
I have learned to accept my mom for who she is and realize she loves me the best way that she knows how.
I have learned that my father is capable of loving more fully than I ever imagined.
I have learned that it's hard for your body to be 50 when your heart and brain still think they are 35.
I have learned that grandchildren are much more special than I ever imagined possible.
I have learned that "raising" young adults is much more stressful than raising teenagers.
I have learned that having a sweet seven year old in the house when you are 50 is one of the greatest gifts you can receive.
These are just a few of life's lessons that I have learned. I'm a little rebellious so sometimes I am a slow learner. I'm still working on learning about that.

Day 25-Put your iPod on shuffle, first 10 songs

iPod, who owns an iPod? Probably everyone but me.  You will laugh when you see what I listen to my music on...
Yep, that is it. A Disney MP3 player.  I bought three of these a couple of years ago. I was going to give them away as gifts but I wanted to check one out first and I have used it ever since.  You may laugh but it works great and I only paid $8 for it. How much did your music player cost you?  :)
Now for what came up on my very pink Disney MP3 player after I hit shuffle...
1.  Fooling Yourself by Styx
2. Anyway by Martina McBride (I promise I didn't plan that)
3. How Far by Martina McBride
4. Un Dia Llegara by Josh Groban (some day I want to find out what this songs says)
5. Soul Heart and Mind by Greg Simpson
6. To Where You Are by Josh Groban
7. White Horse by Taylor Swift
8. Mr. Roboto by Styx
9. Bring Them In by Nancy Hanson
10.  How I Feel by Martina McBride

What didn't pop up were any of the songs from Queen, Blondie or the Mama Mia soundtrack that I also have on there.  No rhyme or reason to what I listen to and I really only listen to it once or twice a month so not a lot of need for a long list or a fancy player.
So now, who knows me well enough to know the significance of Styx being on my MP3 player?

  3. Here's the translation
"A Day Will Come" Josh Groban

Las hojas secas caerán y cuando llegue abril
The leaves fall and when April comes
Mi alma tocarás, te acercarás, vendrás por mí My soul will touch, you come, you come for me
Después de tanta soledad, yo volvería a sentir After so much solitude, I would begin to feel
    Encontraré mi paz en ti
I'll find my peace in you

Cuando se duerma la ciudad y se despida el sol When the city sleeps and the sun sets
Te buscaré otra vez hasta alcanzar esta ilusión I'll look again to achieve this illusion
Te encontraré y me amarás así
I will find you and love me so

Y escucharé en el silencio la voz del corazón And listen in silence the voice of the heart
Y la tormenta se calmará en tus brazos And the storm will calm down in your arms
Vale la pena esperar por tu amor porque un día llegará Worth waiting for your love because a day will come

Te encontraré y me amarás así I will find you and love me so
Y escucharé en el silencio la voz del corazón And listen in silence the voice of the heart
Y la tormenta se calmará en tus brazos And the storm will calm down in your arms
Vale la pena esperar por tu amor el mañana Worth waiting for your love tomorrow

Te abrazaré en el silencio I'll hold you in silence
Toda la vida esperé por tu amor All waited for your love life
Y ese día llega, sé que vendrás a mí And that day comes, I know you'll come to me
