Day 22 and 23

Day 22-What's in your makeup bag
I don't really keep a make-up bag. I have a small plastic container in my top drawer of the bathroom that holds my foundation, mascara, cover-up, eyeliner, tweezers, fingernail file, Q-tips and lip gloss. There is also blush and  eye shadow but I rarely wear either one of those.
The little makeup bag in my purse doesn't hold any makeup except for a tube of lipstick and a tube of lip gloss. There is lotion and a finger nail file in there as well as a small mirror.  I wear makeup every day but I'm not a real makeup connoisseur so I don't have a lot nor do I use anything that is expensive. Cover Girl is good enough for me

Day 23-Favorite vacation
This is a tough one because I have been on some great vacations. I haven't traveled to Europe or anywhere too exotic. My vacations are a little closer to home and usually have some historical (whether it be family, nation or church) value to them.
I only remember a few vacations growing up. Most of the time our vacations involved heading out of state to stay with cousins. Those were always the most fun. When I was seven my family moved to Illinois for 18 months during which time we crammed in all the sight seeing we possibly could and although I don't remember it all I do remember all the sights around Washington DC, Niagara Falls, Arlington Monument, Palmyra and spending time with our Smith cousins that lived in Ohio.  When I was nine, and we had moved back to Washington, we took a trip up to Kamloops, CA for a week of camping. I think my dad was working up there so he took the whole family, plus a couple of cousins, up for a camping/fishing trip. This is my first memory of fishing and I remember gutting the fish I caught late at night, in the dark because I wasn't about to be a wimp and let someone else clean them for me. I hated every minute of it and was scared to death being out on the dock at night but I wasn't about to let anyone else know that.
Before I was married I took a trip to Hawaii with three friends. We had a good time but did not take advantage of all the sights there were to see there. I didn't really learn how to sight-see until I married Dale. When you go on a vacation with Dale you see it all and even more. :)  Dale and I went to Yellowstone for our honeymoon and took a trip down to the Yucatan Peninsula, with his folks, a year after we had been married. We had originally planned to stay in Cancun but decided that was too touristy for us. We wanted to stay where the natives stayed when they went on vacation so we drove down the coast and stayed at Playa Del Carmen (I think). I don't know how built up it is now but back then it was still pretty remote. We spent ten days touring all the ruins throughout the peninsula. That was an amazing vacation.
My children, and myself, are so fortunate and we have learned so much about our nation and our church history because of some of the wonderful road trips Dale has taken us on. We have taken the kids to Niagara Falls, Custer's Last Stand, Mt. Rushmore, Hill Cumorah, Grand Canyon, Mesa Verdi, Four Corners, Golden Gate Bridge, Mt. Rainier, Independence Rock, Sutters Mill,  California Redlands, Tijuana, Golden Spike, Yellowstone, and so many other places. We also try to stop at most of the State Capitals and LDS temples in each of the states we have been through.
Dale and I have been trying to plan our next big road trip. We haven't done too much since Grant was born. He gets to Idaho and Utah quite often but that is about it. He's at a good age to start giving him some of the experiences his older siblings have had so here's to hoping our mini van has a few more thousand miles on it for us.
