Day 29

Day 29-3 Wishes
Three wishes huh? I must have found a Genie in a bottle. The humane answer to that prompt would of course be world peace, no more hunger and no more illness. Can you even imagine what our world would be like if those three wishes came true?
But I'm a realist and so my wishes are going to be a little more personal and much more realistic.
1. I wish my children and grandchildren lived closer. Not too close (for their sake) but, oh I don't know, maybe about 6 hours closer. I could even do the drive in six hours.
2. Right now I wish that dang woodpecker would stop pecking on our metal chimney for his mating call. I know I just used up a perfectly good wish but do you even know what a wood pecker pecking on a metal chimney sounds like in your house. It's maddening I tell you.
3. My last wish is for my family to have more joy. Joy in our jobs, in school, in our pursuits of happiness, in our relationships. I think a person could endure just about anything if they have Joy in their lives to help them get through the challenges. I don't wish for the challenges to be taken away. I truly believe they are what make us better, stronger people. I just wish for more joy so we are better able to deal with our every day lives. I know where that source of joy comes from so I hope my family seeks it, finds it and lives a life filled with it.

  1. Oh Shari, I do know what a woodpecker on a metal chimney sounds like! We have one visit every spring and every fall.

  2. I couldn't agree with you more about the joy. You can never have enough. We often let our everyday struggles get to us more than we want to.
