Day 7

Day 7-Favorite movies

Oh man, this just cracks me up. I have gotten so addicted to watching Bollywood movies the past couple of weeks. They kept popping up as suggested viewings for me on my Netflix. I've never been a big fan of having to read sub titles while watching a movie. It's too distracting. If I'm going to watch a love story I want to be able to really focus on the emotions of the characters the actors are playing.  There was one that kept catching my eye. The guy was hot and the girl was just plain gorgeous (see Day 6 post on pictures that make me happy) and the story sounded intriguing so I gave in and turned it on.  I have been hooked ever since.  I can't say that any I have watched would ever go on my "favorite movie" list but the music and beautiful vibrant colors and the respect and sweetness that all the male characters have shown their love interest just keeps me coming back for more.

Now on to my real favorite movies list...

Pirate Of The Caribbean

(Only the first one. Iv'e been disappointed with the last two but I'm hoping for good things for number 4)
Johnny Depp killed this character and made this one of my all time favorites. I love the music too. I could listen to it all day long.

I love Dances With Wolves. To watch how Kevin Costner's character evolves from what he has been led to believe about Native Americans to develop his own opinions and feelings towards them as his fellow mankind and then to be willing to risk his life for them just brings a warmth in my heart. It is a true love story with history and culture thrown in. I love it.

I don't know anyone that doesn't love this movie. It was so creatively done with Forrest being place into all the different scenes shot from history.  It is one of the sweetest, most innocent love stories I have ever watched. I love the 70's that take me back to my childhood. It's one of the few movies I have watched over and over again.

The Princess Bride is a family favorite. It's funny, and touching, action packed with a little bit of a mystery thrown in. Robin Wright is the perfect princess bride. My favorite character is Inigo Mantoya.  "I was eleven years old. And when I was strong enough, I dedicated my life to the study of fencing. So the next time we meet, I will not fail. I will go up to the six-fingered man and say, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

A Knight's Tale. I mean just look at the cover, what's not to like. lol  I love the humor in this movie and if you can get past the naked man it is really funny.  I love the  medieval  era and this is all of that with a little modern day thrown in.  Song and dance, humor, love and a hunky main character. It's just a fun movie. Catherine just saw this and told me to stop stealing her all time favorite movie. I had to remind her how old she was when this moving first came out. I'm pretty sure she stole it from my all time favorite movies list.

Last on my list might surprise some people because it is rated R and I typically do not watch rated R movies but my oldest son told me that I needed to watch this movie so I took a leap of faith and took him up on his suggestion.  It is definitely a rated R movie and I found it pretty disturbing in some parts but the other emotions it invoked in me puts it on my Favorite Movie's list.I had never thought of myself as prejudiced and I still don't but after watching this movie I did recognize how I do sometimes stereotype people because of what I have seen on TV, or experienced in my real life. I'm glad I watched it. It made me more aware. I helps me remember to not be so judgmental of others no matter what their circumstances might be because I have no way of knowing their life. It made me realize that we are all connected, all of us, no matter where we are from, what we believe or how we live. Our choices have an affect on the lives of others and watching this movie better helped me to recognize this. That is why it goes into my "favorites" list.
