Finally used the new Kitchenaid mixer today to make some bread. I used a recipe from the Kitchenaid handbook. It came out very hard on the crust but the flavor wasn't to bad. Next time I will try the recipe I used way back, so many years ago when last I made bread.
Dale is obsessed with the TV show America's Test Kitchen. He bought two of their cookbooks and practically studies them. It's not necessarily a bad thing since because of it he has made a few kitchen product purchases. It's just that I don't think my cooking skills will ever match those of America's Test Kitchen. I am going to make my best effort though.
I cooked a turkey the way they suggested, well sort of. I didn't have the Vrack they said to use and the turkey had been in our freezer for well over two years so all things considered I think it turned out okay. The gravy was delicious though. Actually I didn't really follow their recipe on that. I just did what I have watched my mom do over the course of growing up. It was so good the kids were dipping the crusty bread into it. So I guess the meal was eatable.
