Just showed Grant some pictures from 9/11. I want him to understand why we are doing our service project today and the reason behind it. Thought I could explain it to him without falling apart. I was wrong. How do you explain to a 7 year old about the evil in the world and what it cost us.
How do you impress upon him that there will always be good in the world to battle that evil but many people will lose their lives in that battle. How do you impress upon him how grateful you are to live in a country where the freedoms allow... us to choose to be good and yes even evil. I am so proud to be an American. I am so grateful for the men and women who served their public that day and gave their lives doing it. I am sorrowful for the innocent people who lost their lives and the families they left behind. I am saddened that our battle against the evil that caused this is still raging but I know, with all my being, that GOOD will win this battle. And today, as I do a very small part to represent that good, I honor those who have given their lives to keep me free. God Bless America!
