Cub Scout Camp Round Twelve

Aug. 1-4, 2011
At least I think it was round twelve. It's hard to know for sure. Each boy has gone three years but there were years when Geoffrey and Gregory overlapped and then again when Gregory and Gordon overlapped so I'm just taking a guess at the number. Either way it has been a heck of a lot of time spent at Cub Camp and we have two more summers to go with Grant.  Because of how his birthday fell this was the very first Cub activity he has been too. He hadn't even gone to a regular den meeting yet. I thought he would be a little reserved about going but not at all. He didn't have any fear of what would be going on or who would be there. I love that I have low level anxious kids.  I chaperoned one day and Dale took a day off work to chaperon. It was fun to watch Grant interact with the other boys and participate in all the activities. He had a wonderful time.
These are all the boys in our Pack ages 8 through 10. Two of these boys have actually moved up to 11 year old Scouts now.

My serious guy.

Putting some paint on the sailboat he made the day before.

Still painting.

Grant putting the final touches on the periscope he built.  I love the wood projects they do at day camp!

Trying to teach Grant the benefit of driving a nail part way through one board just enough to poke it into the other one so it will stay in place while you hammer it.

That is Grant trying to look through the sight on his gun without actually touching the gun. At least he obeys the rules. :)
Grant ended up with two bulls-eyes on his target. He's taking credit even though the kid to his left was aiming at Grant's target for the first ten minutes. lol
